According to Sri Aurobindo, “All Life is Yoga”. Yoga can thus be defined as the union of Man’s consciousness to the Divine consciousness. All life is therefore an evolution towards this perfection. For the achievement of this aim, it is essential to integrate body, mind and soul. In yoga, body is the base for mental, psychic and spiritual development. Hence all systems of yoga have emphasized perfection of the body and its purification. Yoga also emphasizes an concentration and dhyana or meditation. Real education lies not in collection of information but in developing the power of concentration and sharpening the problem-solving abilities in children. Yogasanas control activities of the mind which in turn equips the child to development concentration and to discriminate between right and wrong, good and bad. As our school aims at integral education, meditation, music, recitation of slokas, extra-curricular activities form an essential part of our curriculum. Yogasanas have also been initiated for classes VI to IX to empower them to meet the growing challenges in the present day world.
